In a little over a year, the elite political media once again will spend a lot of time telling you how important Iowa is. This happens every four years. It's like Brigadoon, with corndogs!- Charlie Pierce, causing one of the most ineffable puzzles of American politics – why on earth do we care so much what Iowans think? – suddenly to make me feel as if it's finally been effed.
