If al Qaeda had attacked us on July 11th, 2001, instead of September 11th, not only could they have stampeded us into giving up many of our fundamental freedoms in exchange for a false sense of national security, they could have driven out of America the world's largest operator, franchisor and licensor of convenience stores -- whose trademarked motto is, significantly, "Oh thank Heaven."
