The LO/KPOJ "Lost Limerick Challenge"

This morning's Oregon news limericks, as written by me, read by quizmaster TJ of Loaded Orygun, and answered by Carl, Christine, and Paul on the KPOJ 620AM Morning Show, are posted at LO.

Fill in the blank in this law-and-order limerick with the word or phrase from this week's Oregon news:

He's one hero who doesn't need coaching,
And the bad guys won't hear him approaching.
State Police play their ace--
RoboElk's on the case!
His mission? To help combat ___________ .

(The answer can be found in the Comments below, or in this week's Spanning the State at Loaded Orygun.)

Answer: Poaching

The story: Elk season has started in Oregon, and the Humane Society donated a $4000 mechanical elk to the Oregon State Police Fish & Wildlife Dept to use in "sting" operations against illegal hunters.

OSP has RoboAntelopes, RoboDeer, RoboBears, and RoboTurkeys--and now a RoboElk. Last year they gave out 143 Robo-related citations, including 90 for shooting at RoboAnimals from moving vehicles.

RoboElk's message: "Stay in school, kids."
