It's 10pm the evening before the election.Call this the long dark night of the republic's soul.
In my worst moments, here's what I fear:
The outcome of the presidential election tomorrow will come down to whether the Democrats, by having the more popular candidate, having registered thousands and thousands of new voters, and having a get-out-the-vote machine that dwarfs the GOP's operation, will be able to receive more votes than the Republicans will be able to suppress or steal.
