The unforgiving minute

On September 10th, 2001, there were less than 20 names on the terrorist watch list maintained by the US government.

Today, there are over 755,000 names and counting (including multiple aliases; the number of specific individuals is estimated at around 300,000).

Makes you wonder, doesn't it? Are there that many more terrorists around, after six years of the Bush War on Terror?

Or is something else making that list balloon?
