Sunday morning toons

Walt Handlesman of Newsday discovers that Bush has had a "phased withdrawal" plan all along. It's just not the one we were hoping for.

And the Tallahassee Democrat's Doug Marlette has found a better metaphor for the frantic departure of Bush's domestic political support than the threadbare one about "rats" and "ships." It's grim, but not without a certain historical resonance.

By a landslide, the idea that the cartoonists came back to most often was Bush's decision to intervene between warring parties, when increasing number of Americans think we should simply withdraw and let them wipe each other out. See here, here, here, here, and here.
