Mug shots

By now, most of America has seen Tom DeLay's booking shot. Amazing piece of PR work. I've seen studio wedding photos of people who didn't look as natty and cheerful. (Over at awfulplasticsurgery.com, by the way, they're detecting signs of a botched nose job, but that's another story.) In fact, the photo feels so stage-managed I'm not even going to link to it here. If, against all odds, you haven't yet seen it, enter "tom delay booking photo" in Google and duck.

On the other hand, you may not have seen DeLay's entire perp walk. (He went to some lengths to keep you from seeing it.) Thanks to blogger-turning-stringer Lindsay at Majikthise, though, you can enjoy the whole gallery here.

But if DeLay's calculated smarminess is too much for you, here's the mug shot of someone who stared down the police camera with righteous strength--"soul force," a contemporary called it. Right now, America needs everyone it can get who's willing to say "enough!" We're diminished by the loss.
