This week in 1971, Rod Stewart hit #1 on the charts for the first time with “Maggie May.” It was slipped onto the “Every Picture Tells a Story” album at the last minute, and was the B-side of “Reason To Believe,” another gem we'll have to pay tribute to here sometime soon. Talk about an embarrassment of riches.
