Sunday morning toons: Special "Death Knocks" edition

Courtesy of the Daryl Cagle round-up:

p3 Picks of the Week: Pat Bagley, M. e. Cohen, Monte Wolverton, Jerry Holbert, and Mike Thompson.

John Trever and Bob Englehart note the passing of William F. Buckley, Jr.

Fittingly, almost no one noted the entry of Ralph Nader into the presidential race, although the one who did got it pretty much right.

Daryl Cagle and R. J. Matson find their muse this week in vintage Warner Bros. toons,

Ann Telnaes captures Bush's take on the age-old guns-versus-houses dilemma.

Opus falls off the wagon. First medicinal wine from a teaspoon, then Turnip Twaddlers by the case.

A consummation devoutly to be wished: Especially given that I lived at the time in the home town of artist Jim Davis, how did I miss the fact that Garfield died? I'm not complaining mind you (other than the disappointing fact that it apparently didn't "take"); I'm just wondering how it got by me.

p3 Bonus Toon: Jesse Springer finds that he already misses the Oregon legislature's special session.
