Funny--I thought those were the only reasons anyone would vote for him

Excerpt from a statement by James Dobson, über-Christianist and head of Focus on the Family, released today on Laura Ingraham's radio show, denouncing John McCain:

I am deeply disappointed the Republican Party seems poised to select a nominee who did not support a Constitutional amendment to protect the institution of marriage, voted for embryonic stem-cell research to kill nascent human beings, opposed tax cuts that ended the marriage penalty, has little regard for freedom of speech, organized the Gang of 14 to preserve filibusters in judicial hearings, and has a legendary temper and often uses foul and obscene language.

This should be fun. As several commentators have pointed out, right-wing radio and the Christian right have painted themselves into a corner on this one: If McCain wins the nomination despite their acrimonious attacks on him (welcome to our world, Senator), they're going to have a lot less clout when the dust settles, and everyone will know it.
