Sunday morning toons

The South Carolina primary closed too late for most cartoonists to make hay off of it, so this week's toon round-up by Daryl Cagle has a little bit of this, and a little bit of that.

p3 Picks of the Week: Mike Keefe, M. e. Cohen, Patrick Chapatte, Jimmy Margulies, Adam Zyglis, Robert Ariail, and Matt Davies.

Special p3 Award of Merit to Henry Payne for his tribute to a man who departed like he campaigned--as a performer with an unerring sense of gravity.

The Closet of Anxieties has a reassuring message for Opus--or does it? (Wouldn't be much of a Closet of Anxieties if it did, now would it?)

Ann Telnaes presents us with a Junior of Arabia twofer following his whirlwind junket of Middle East peace and democracy. Hard to believe nearly everyone (but the lucky winners) has already forgotten his trip, isn't it? Good luck with that whole "making 2008 your 'legacy year'" thing, Mr. President. (Also, am I the only one who noticed that he didn't stage a "surprise" plastic-turkey tableau photo op with the troops in Iraq while he was in the neighborhood?)

Special p3 Bonus Toon: Jesse Springer salutes those Oregonians who managed to remember the difference between "weather" and "climate" during last week's cold snap.
