Kos helpfully tallies up all the evidence (to date) that the only thing "Reaganesque" about Fred Thompson is that it's never too early to start wondering when the elevator stopped going all the way to the top floor.It still boggles my mind that this guy was their great (really) white hope. I mean, sure, when things were bad for Democrats, they often let themselves fantasize about a well-known actor riding in to save the day--Warren Beatty, George Clooney, and so on.
But those were just fantasies. Even the Democrats were never crazy enough to let them get this far.
