Merkley comes to Drinking Liberally tomorrow night

The Portland chapter of Drinking Liberally (their motto: "Promoting Democracy, One Pint at a Time") meets Thursday night, September 6th, at 7pm at its regular place, the Lucky Labrador Brew Pub, SE 9th and Hawthorne.

That's 501 days before Bush finally follows Snow, Gonazles, and the rest out the door.

Our guest this week is Oregon House Speaker and Democratic candidate for US Senate Jeff Merkley.

How does Merkley square his 2003 vote--for the troops? For the war? How does he differentiate his primary candidacy from that of fellow Democratic Senate candidate (and Drinking Liberally guest last spring) Steve Novick? And how does he plan to beat Gordon Smith in the statewide race? Come to Drinking Liberally Thursday night and ask Rep. Merkley yourself.

We had a memorable session when Steve Novick came to Drinking Liberally--we're counting on this to be a great meeting too.

The road to Washington runs through Drinking Liberally! So join us tomorrow night at the Lucky Lab. And remember: Drinking Liberally encourages everyone to drink (and vote) responsibly.
