The Portland chapter of Drinking Liberally (their motto: "Promoting Democracy, One Pint at a Time") meets tonight at its regular meeting place, the Lucky Labrador Brew Pub, SE 9th and Hawthorne.(DL meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month.)
Tonight will be a special night, since the 110th Congress--with Democratic majorities in both houses--will take up its duties today. First up in the House: repairing some of the GOP-orchestrated damage to the ethics process. It won't be perfect, but it will be a hell of a move forward.
Is it me, or does the air just seem a little, you know, cleaner today?
Join us tonight to celebrate the beginning of the long hard slog back to reality and responsibility. (Now there's a reason to have a beer!)
