Okay, everybody back to work

(Updated below.)

Kos looks at the 2008 Senate numbers, and picks our very own Gordon Smith's seat as one of the top pick-up opportunities for the Democrats.

Update: Loaded Orygun has a good thread on who should be put against the ring against Gordo.

Smith will be one of the most endangered Republicans in 2008

And seeing him return to his frozen food bizness will be almost as sweet as watching Rick Santorum go down. Who should run against him, though?

Howdy!

Actually, in fairness to the Keystone State, Santorum has been a much more outstanding embarrassment than Smith.

That's the question, though: Who will the Dems put up against Smith? Kos praises the DPO's "bench strength," which I suppose is true, but as I look down the bench I'm not sure who the strongest candidate would be. The Dems have an agenda for the newly-recaptured OR House that could be leveraged to the national level without too much of a stretch, especially with Kulongowski comfortably back in the governor's chair. It's not really the DPO's style to groom one candidate and clear the others out of the way, but it might be something to consider.
