Atonement

Lance Mannion spells it out:

Al Gore has done much to atone for blowing the 2000 campaign, but there's still one offense he committed that continues to do harm, and for which he has not yet paid the full price: He made anyone outside of Connecticut aware of the existence of Joe Lieberman.
