Project Censored has released its annual list of the top censored media stories of the previous year--although sometimes "under-reported" is nearer the mark than "censored," even if it's less attention-grabbing.
Check the list out. It's a good way to test your news-finding habits: What sources do you rely on? Do you wait for the news to find you, or do you go looking? For some items on the list you'll say, "yeah, yeah--old news." For some, though, you may say "Oh, my god, you're kidding!" If an item on the list genuinely surprises you, take a few minutes and do some digging. (It's the one thing that "they"--and you know who "they" are--don't want you to be doing.)
