Bush's "Billy Jack" moment

Rove's back on the case; he and Dan Bartlett are spinning the disastrous handling of Hurricane Katrina as fast as they can. Which isn't surprising.

What is surprising is that the press--even as they report the new spin offensive as "news," are also blithely reporting the spin itself as news.

The fact that they're spinning this story is being covered as news . . . by the very outlets that then go ahead and allow themselves to be spun by these guys. They tell the press they're going to spin them, and then they do.

And you wanna know something? It looks like there's not a damn thing the press is gonna be able to do about it.
Billy Jack: You know what I think I'm gonna do then? Just for the hell of it?
Mr. Posner: Tell me.
Billy Jack: I'm gonna take this right foot, and I'm gonna whop you on that side of your face...
[points to Posner's right cheek]
Billy Jack: ...and you wanna know something? There's not a damn thing you're gonna be able to do about it.
Mr. Posner: Really?
Billy Jack: Really.
[kicks Posner's right cheek, sending him to the ground]
