Just don't call it 'class warfare'

On the two most recent fronts in the GOP War Against Everyone Who Isn't Rich, Oregon's House delegation split down the middle:

Permanently eliminating the estate tax:

Hooley and Walden voted in favor of sticking it to the 97% who don't pay estate taxes anyway, in favor of the 3% superrich who do. Blumenauer, DeFazio, and Wu voted against it.

Overall, the House voted 272-162 in favor of permanently eliminating the estate tax. Forty-two Democrats voted with 230 Republicans in support of the bill. You can see a sortable breakdown of all House votes on the estate tax bill here.

Tightening the bankruptcy rules:

Hooley, Walden, and Wu sided with the credit card companies, and against those facing huge credit card debt or the costs of catastrophic illness; Blumenauer and DeFazio voted against.

Overall, the House voted 302-126 in favor of protecting the credit card companies, with 73 Democrats joining the Republicans in support of the bill.

[Update: I originally had Wu's votes on the two bill reversed. They're correct now. Thanks to the Glidster.]
