Thanks to Jann Toole for sharing these photos from the Portland Peace Vigil last Saturday night (click on them to enlarge).
Conservative estimates ("conservative" in the old sense of "restrained," not the new sense of "wacko") put the number of participants at around 1000.
By the way, hats off to the Portland organizers (and here's the list again) for keeping their eye on the ball--for making this a mobilization for peace, not a platform for every other cause left of Martha Stewart.
Quite a contrast to the situation that the DC vigil seems to have found itself in.
