Saturday late evening tunes: It's no better to be safe than sorry

It's perhaps the best music video of the 1980s -- maybe "Beat It" and "Thriller" could have nosed it out, but I've never forgiven The Gloved One for popularizing the everyone-doing-the-same thing-in-a-triangle-arrangement school of choreography that took too long to go away. (Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson, I'm looking at you, too.)

The video combines live footage combined with beautifully rotoscoped pencil drawings, while capturing the worst tendencies of 1980s hair fashion. The result is impressive -- especially in a decade that began with the video oeuvre of Hall & Oates, a great duo with truly dreadful videos.

Oh yeah, and the song is pretty good, too.
