Zevon

From his last performance, on the Letterman show in 2002, here's a classic piece of Warren Zevon, who died three years ago today.

By this point the lung cancer that took him out had begun to make its mark on his singing, leaving his once-strong voice thin and reedy in spots, but it's a fair performance of a great tune.
I want to live alone in the desert
I want to be like Georgia O'Keefe
I want to live on the Upper East Side
And never go down in the street
